Cleansing With The Family
Getting your children and family involved in your cleanse is a great way to improve their health while you improve yours. Just keep in mind that choosing the proper cleanse is important. Cleanses with kids should be whole foods based and include a broad range of high quality, plant based foods with low inflammatory/allergenic potential.
Here are some of the immediate benefits of family cleanses.
Reduce sugar and junk food cravings
Eliminating high sugar and refined carbohydrate foods and replacing them with high fibre, nutrient dense foods will help to stabilize blood sugar and reduce cravings.
Identify food intolerances
Our children often have food intolerances that we aren’t aware of affecting their day-to-day moods, sleep, digestion, concentration and well being. Cleanses are a great to way to eliminate some of the foods with the highest allergenic potential and observe how it changes our children’s behaviour and overall health.

The gut is intimately linked to the brain. Through many mechanisms, including the vagus nerve and the chemicals (both helpful and toxic) the gut bacteria produce, what we take in has a profound effect on our mood and mental heath.
